School Site Master Plans

Each school site was engaged in meetings relevant to it’s specific site to develop conceptual plans based on district wide goals. Meetings were depending on whether the school site was involved in ongoing design, had recently completed work or the principal was involved in the district wide focus groups. Meetings totaled twenty-three at the elementary school level, ten at the middle school level and seven at the high school level. At the middle and high school level, staff leadership was engaged in the process and each school site also hosted community meetings to share district efforts as needed.

The creation of the Master Plan was an iterative process were a plan was presented and discussion was held regarding comments and input. The plan was then revised based on the comments and input and then represented with the modifications. This process continued until there was a consensus that the plan accurately reflected the discussions and vision of the stakeholders. The breakdown of projects reflects a consensus that the issues raised by the focus groups apply to the various sites as well.

The following meetings were held for each school with Site Master Plan Committees. Members of these committees were selected by the Principal, and were generally made up of school site staff, faculty and PTA members.

Project Prioritization and Bond Projects

Best efforts have been made to capture the future vision and plan for the facilities at PAUSD. The projects shown are conceptual in nature and based on meetings with current leaders in the district. These are a starting point in steps toward developing projects at each campus.

In May 2018, a survey was sent out to the Principals and staff leadership involved in the Master Planning efforts at each school. The survey was general for the Elementary and Middle Schools and was site specific for the High Schools. The results of the survey were used to develop the Preliminary Bond Project List and projects were identified based on their alignment with the district goals laid out by the strategic plan.

Project Prioritization Process

It is estimated that the financial need for projects throughout the District is nearly $1.18 Billion in funds over the next 20 years. The District’s Facilities shall be prioritized based on the goals in the Strategic Plan adopted by the school board. An example of projects aligning with the Strategic Plan is as follows:
